Error description
Idle Secure Socket Layer(SSL) connections are using too much memory
Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: IBM WebSphere Application Server Version * * v7.0 and v8.0 users of SSL. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: SSL connections were using more * * memory than required * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** An idle SSL connection's memory use could be more efficient
Problem conclusion
The SSL channel added the "sslCustomApplicationBufferSize" custom property. You can set an integer size for what you would like the buffer size to be. The default is -1, which tells the code to use the SSL Engine application buffer size(16660). This custom property can be set on SSL Channel configuration panel found here: Application Servers > {Server Name} > Web Container Transport Chains > {Chain Name} > {SSL Channel Name} > Custom Properties The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix packs 7.0.0.23 and 8.0.0.3.
