Error description

Properties file based configuration (PFBC) properties files
with J2EEProperties that contain encoded password values cause
the applyConfigProeprties and validateConfigProperties
commands to fail.

The original problem when the properties file has
the J2EEResourceProperties that contains the encoded password
value causing the applyConfigProperties and
validateConfigProperties commands fail that has been fixed in
the APAR PM45170. The APAR PM48631 will enhance the PFBC
code to encrypt the password value if it is decoded by the PFBC
command or it is specified as the plain text in the properties
file so the password value will not be exposed in the config
file.

Problem conclusion

The problem when the properties file contains the encoded
password value that caused applyConfigProperties and
validateConfigProperties command fail that has been fixed
in the APAR PM45170.  This APAR will enhance the properties
file based configuration (PFBC) code to encode the password
value if it is decoded by the PFBC command or the password
value is specified as plain text in the properties file.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 7.0.0.23 and 8.0.0.3.  Please refer to the
