Error description
After migrating WebSphere Application Server V6.1 to WebSphere Application Server 7.0, on dmgr start,SystemOut.log shows; CWPKI0022E: SSL HANDSHAKE FAILURE: A signer with SubjectDN "CN=xxx.xx.net, OU=aaaaa, O=bbbbb, L=ccccc, ST=ccccc, C=US" was sent from target host:port "10.00.00.00:636". The signer may need to be added to local trust store "D:/IBM/WebSphere/AppServer/profiles/Dmgr01/config/cells/APP-e01 /trust.p12" located in SSL configuration alias "security.xml". The extended error message from the SSL handshake exception is: "PKIX path validation failed: java.security.cert.CertPathValidatorException: The revocation status of the certificate with subject (CN=xxx.xx.net, OU=aaaaa, O=bbbbb, L=ccccc, ST=ccccc, C=US ) could not be determined." In the security.xml file, trustmanager has 2 entries: trustManager="TrustManager_2 TrustManager_1"
Local fix
Once migration completes then in security.xml for v7.0 change the trustManager="TrustManager_2 TrustManager_1" to to trustManager="TrustManager_1" ... The trustManager will be different based on your server configuration. So the names may not match exactly. However you will see two names with the space seperating them.
Problem summary

The solution was to preserve the old trust manager settings in the new release.
Problem conclusion
The problem was resolved by preserving the old trust manager settings in the new release. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix packs 7.0.0.23 and 8.0.0.3.
