Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server V8.0 * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: On IBM i systems, the LIBPATH * * environment variable from the server * * configuration is ignored at server * * startup. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply fix pack 8.0.0.2 or higher * **************************************************************** The startserver command will ignore the value of the LIBPATH environment variable which is set in the application server's configuration. As a result, some Web applications will fail to start due to the inability of the application server to find some classes which depend on the LIBPATH environment variable.
Problem conclusion
The startserver command will now append the value of the application server's LIBPATH environment variable to the value it sets at server startup. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 8.0.0.2.
