Error description

In IBM i 7.1 java started issuing the std.err message:

The java.version property was detected as input. This property
is used as output only and has no effect on JVM initialization.

when the -Djava.version= java is passed on the java invocation.
The enableJVM function calls the wsadmin script to update
federated nodes.  If the node is on an IBM i 7.1 system, the new
java std.err message is interpreted as an error and the function
fails.

When issuing the enableJVM command to update a federated node
that resides on an IBM i 7.1 system, the wsadmin script is
invoked by the EnableJVM.class.  The invocation of java in this
script passes the -Djava.version option.  This causes IBM Java
(J9) to issue a message to std.err stating that this option is
ignored.  The EnableJVM.class monitors the std.out and std.err
messages returned from the wsadmin call. Any std.err message is
perceived as a failure and the operation is marked as failing.

Problem conclusion

The 'java.version' message issued to std.err by J9 will be
caught and will no longer cause the operation to fail.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix packs 6.1.0.43 and 7.0.0.21.  Please refer to the
