Error description

The issue was during migration from WAS V6.1 to WAS V7. Customer
had the following variables defined at cell scope:
 DB2UNIVERSAL_JDBC_DRIVER_NATIVEPATH=/usr/lpp/DB2/lib"
The above variable did not exist at any lower level (node or
server). During migration, the cell scope setting was properly
carried over, but also added the same variable at each node
scope and set it to null:
 DB2UNIVERSAL_JDBC_DRIVER_NATIVEPATH=<blank>

Since node scope setting takes precedence, the applications
connection to DB2 were broken.

Local fix

remove node scope definition for
DB2UNIVERSAL_JDBC_DRIVER_NATIVEPATH

Problem summary

*                      blank values variables which override   *
*                      migrated non-blank variables at higher  *

Customer may have cleaned up the node or server level blank
variables in the older release and set these variables at a
higher scope.  Once migrated the Default profile template
resets these blank variables at the node and server levels.
These defaul blank variables override the values set at the
higher scope.

Problem conclusion

This fix tests for the existance of blank level variables in
the new profile and if the corresponding variable is not
also set to blank at the same scope in the old profile being
migrated the default blank variables are removed from the new
profile.  If the blank variable is set and overrides the same
variable at a higher scope a Warning is issued.

APAR PM50326 is currently targeted for inclusion in
Fix Packs 7.0.0.23 and 8.0.0.3 of WebSphere Application
Server.
