APAR status
Closed as program error.
Error description
Invoking LogViewer with the "-instance" option does not seem to go into effect because the log and trace data is displayed for multiple instances instead of the specified instance. Additionally, the following message is displayed: CWNATV00W: The '-instance' parameter has been deprecated and replaced by the '-profileName' parameter.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server V8.0 using Log Viewer on the iSeries * * operating system. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When using the -instance option of * * LogViewer, only log and trace data * * from the specified instance is * * supposed to be displayed. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The underlying setupCmdLine script that gets invoked by LogViewer also has an "instance" option that has been deprecated. As a result, the setupCmdLine script removes the "instance" option and its value, then warns the user by displaying the message: CWNATV00W: The '-instance' parameter has been deprecated and replaced by the '-profileName' parameter.
Problem conclusion
The LogViewer tool has been updated to ensure that the "instance" option from the command line is passed only to LogViewer, avoiding any modifications or display of messages from the setupCmdLine. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 8.0.0.2.
