Error description
After Migration to WebSphere 7.0 or 8.0 this RACF error appears: ICH408I USER(PPT5SR1S) GROUP(WSCFG1 ) NAME(WAS APPSVR SR ) /XCSF/tmp/org.eclipse.osgi CL(DIRACC ) FID(D6E2E2C3F2C216F2000000000D3F8B3C) INSUFFICIENT AUTHORITY TO OPENDIR ACCESS INTENT(R--) ACCESS ALLOWED(OTHER ---) EFFECTIVE UID(0000012430) EFFECTIVE GID(0000000740) . This occurs because /tmp is not owned by a WAS group (ie. WSCFG1) Other authorization errors may also happen after the migration of much 'older' servers. They may vary.
Local fix
Set WAS_SERVER_NAME manually. (This is missing from servers created early in WebSphere releases. Setting it will allow for correct path name creation and access.)
