Error description

  • In Service Integration Bus, publish/subscribe messages remains
    in "Pending Acknowledgment mode" state on remote publication
    points even if there is no connection problem between messaging
    engines. The topic space where messages remain in the said state
    eventually gets full and no subsequent messages can be
    processed.

    * USERS AFFECTED:  Users of the default messaging provider for *
    *                  IBM WebSphere Application Server            *

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: In a pubsub environment in the absence  *
    *                      of local consumer if the messages do    *
    *                      not get processed in order then once    *
    *                      the messages with lower ticks get       *
    *                      processed by the consumer of the remote *
    *                      Messaging Engine and acknowledged the   *
    *                      higher ones were remaining un           *
    *                      acknowledged since they were            *
    *                      already acknowledged but weren't        *
    *                      updated since the code was waiting for  *
    *                      the lower ticks to be updated . This    *
    *                      causes the completed prefix to remain   *
    *                      without getting incremented and results *
    *                      in causing the message pile up.         *

    In Service Integration Bus, publish/subscribe messages remains
    in "Pending Acknowledgment mode" state on remote publication
    points even if there is no connection problem between messaging
    engines. The topic space where messages remain in the said
    state
    eventually gets full and no subsequent messages can be
    processed.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Code has been modified to check the completion status of
    message
    processing and keep moving the completed Prefix.
    
    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix pack 7.0.0.23 and 8.0.0.4. Please refer to the Recommended
