Error description

  • An SDO DataObject may return the wrong ChangeSummary instance
    after being moved, if the move requires the addition of an
    xsi:type attribute. This could result in changes not being
    logged properly.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    If a DataObject d is a member of a tree which has a change
    summary element, d.getChangeSummary() will return the
    ChangeSummary instance for that tree. If d is subsequently
    moved to another tree with a change summary element,
    d.getChangeSummary() may then incorrectly return null rather
    than the ChangeSummary instance of the destination tree. This
    could cause unexpected behavior in user applications.

Problem conclusion

  • DataObjects now correctly inherit ChangeSummary instances when
    moved into a destination tree with a change summary element.
