Error description

  • According to RFC specifications, a Session Initiation Protocol
(SIP) proxy should forward 200 OK responses to SIP INFO
requests to the address found in the maddr field of the
request's VIA header. In this bug, responses are forwarded to
the address from which the SIP INFO request originates.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: SIP Proxy is not using the maddr *
    * parameter to route responses. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
The SIP Proxy is not using the maddr parameter (from the VIA
    header) to route responses.

Problem conclusion

  • The SIP Proxy will now look at the maddr parameter (from the
VIA header) to route SIP responses. To enable this
functionality, from the administrative console, go to the
"WebSphere proxy servers > proxy > SIP proxy settings > Custom
properties page. Add a custom property with name
    "maddrParameterEnabled" and value "true".

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix packs 7.0.0.23 and 8.0.0.3. Please refer to the
