Error description
The 200 OK response retransmissions for a RE_INVITE (in-dialog INVITE scenario) are dropped by the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) container.
Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: IBM WebSphere Application Server V8.0 * * Developers using the Session Initiation * * Protocol (SIP) container. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: In Proxy mode the SIP container drops * * "200 OK" messages to an in-dialog * * INVITE request. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** There was no code path for dealing with a scenario where the SIP container in Proxy mode receives "2xx" response retransmissions to an in-dialog INVITE request. The program ran the code for retransmissions of a "2xx "response to an initial INVITE. However, obviously no branch could be found for the transaction because it was a case of an in-dialog INVITE (and not an initial one) thus an error message was printed to the traces: "Error, Failed to find a matching branch".
Problem conclusion
In Proxy mode when receiving a "2xx" response to an in-dialog INVITE the response is saved on a "TransactionUserImpl" object after it comes back from the application level. In case a retransmission is recieved we send the saved response directly to transport. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 8.0.0.2.
