APAR status

Error description

• When using the createApplicationServer command to create an
  application server, a NullPointerException is thrown if the
  host name was not specified correctly.

  The NullPointerException error only occurred when creating an
  application server using the createApplicationServer command
  and an unknown host name was specified.  The NPE error was
  triggered by an UnknownHostNameExcepton when
  createApplicationServer retrieves the host information. The
  NPE will not occur if the correct host name is specified.
  

Problem conclusion

• Additional host name checking is added to prevent the
  NullPointerException error from occurring when an unknown host
  name is specified.
  
  The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
  fix pack 8.0.0.3.  Please refer to the Recommended
