Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server version 7.0 and 8.0 * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: startApplicationOnAllDeployedTargets * * throws an exception if an application * * is mapped to a Web Server. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: If the exception is only in regards to a * * Web Server, it can safely be ignored. * **************************************************************** Applications cannot be started on Web Servers. Therefore, the code should not attempt to start an application on a Web Server.
Problem conclusion
The code will now check if each server is a Web Server before attempting to start the application on said server. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix packs 7.0.0.25 and 8.0.0.4.
