Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Muli-coregroup users of IBM WebSphere * * Application Server that have configured * * coregroup bridges in their topologies. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Servers become non-routable in a multi- * * coregroup topology after restarting * * bridges. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The coregroup bridge implements a sophisticated algorithm for providing transparent failover of hamanager bulletin board posts during bridge rebuilds. There were timing conditions that occurred that resulted in some of these posts to be dropped during bridge rebuilds, breaking the rules of transparent failover. The particular problem encountered with this situation has to do with the initial population of post state during the rebuild.
Problem conclusion
The fix made was to constrain initial posts to accepted only when they contain full post state. This closes the problematic timing windows that resulting in the dropped post issue. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix packs 6.1.0.43, 7.0.0.23 and 8.0.0.3.
