Error description
managesdk uses an admin task to change node and server SDK settings. When the admin task throws an exception, managesdk makes an erroneous assumption that the exception is due to a problem connecting to a deployment manager and issues the following two messages: CWSDK1018I: Profile AppSrv01 could not be enabled to use SDK 1.7_32. CWSDK1002I: The requested managesdk task failed. See previous messages.

**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server V8.0 * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The managesdk command issues erroneous * * messages if an admin task exception is * * thrown. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: None. * **************************************************************** The managesdk command uses an admin task to change the SDK setting at the node level. If this admin task throws an AdminException because it encounters a problem, the managesdk command issues the following two erroneous messages: CWSDK1018I: Profile AppSrv01 could not be enabled to use SDK 1.7_32. CWSDK1002I: The requested managesdk task failed. See previous messages.
Problem conclusion
With this fix, managesdk will stop issuing these messages and instead surface the message that is issued by the admin task at the time of the exception. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 8.0.0.4.
