    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: A server level variable is being *
    * referenced during migration but the *
    *                      target variables.xml file does not      *
    * exist at this level yet, causing a *
    *                      NullPointerException.                   *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    The server level variables.xml file does not exist in the
    target profile. Another config file such as the libraries.xml
    is using a server scoped variable. The cross machine
    migration code must determine the variables setting in the
    corresponding target variables.xml file. This corresponding
    file does not exist if the custom profile template was used to
    create the target profile. Thus the NullPointerException is
    thrown.

Problem conclusion

  • The code will prime the server level variables.xml file in
    the target profile from the template before any config file
    processing occurs.
