APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Description: An OpenJPA internal type associated with wrapping
Object IDs in the query cache function is not serializable.
This can result in NotSerializableExceptions with cache
    plug-ins that serialize cacheable contents.

    ****************************************************************
A datatype internal to OpenJPA that is used to retain object ids
associated with a query cache was not serializable. Query
caches not native to the OpenJPA distribution that can be
configured to serialize object ids may fail with the following
    Exception:
    Caused by: java.io.NotSerializableException:
    org.apache.openjpa.datacache.QueryCacheStoreQuery$CachedObjectId
    at
    java.io.ObjectOutputStream.writeObject0(ObjectOutputStream.java:
    1113)

    java.io.ObjectOutputStream.writeArray(ObjectOutputStream.java:13

    java.io.ObjectOutputStream.writeObject0(ObjectOutputStream.java:
    1107)
    at
    java.io.ObjectOutputStream.writeObject(ObjectOutputStream.java:3
    25)

Problem conclusion

  • The OpenJPA internal type QueryCacheStoreQuery$CachedObjectId
has been updated to be Serializable. This will permit query
    caches to serialize object ids.
