    * RECOMMENDATION:  Apply cumulative maintenance including this *
    *                  fix if existing EJB business exceptions are *
    *                  not being caught as expected after adding   *
    *                  @Inject.                                    *
    ****************************************************************
    When an EJB method is called via a reference obtained with
    @Inject, and the EJB throws an exception, the original exception
    is wrapped in an InvocationTargetException.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The CDI container in WebSphere Application Server was updated to
    return the underlying EJB business method exception.
    
    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix pack 8.0.0.4.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
