PM60030: NULLPOINTEREXCEPTION OCCURS WHEN PEER RECOVERY FAILS

Error description

During peer recovery, if an error occurs that prevents
recovery completing successfully, the following
NullPointerException can occur:

java.lang.NullPointerException
at
com.ibm.ws.recoverylog.spi.RecLogServiceImpl.leaveGroup(RecLogSe
rviceImpl.java:1429)
...

The lower stack frames may vary, but the leaveGroup frame will
always be present.

There is no known observable problem resulting from this
Exception.  Peer recovery has already failed, and the
NullPointerException occurs during processing of this failure.

The NullPointerException occurs because an incorrect key is
used when accessing information about HAManager. This
information is used to interact with HAManager during peer
recovery.  There is no known problem that results from this
NullPointerException because the processing being done at the
time of the NullPointerException is performed again later in
further cleanup that will happen shortly afterwards.

Problem conclusion

This APAR avoids the NullPointerException by ensuring that the
correct key is used.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 6.1.0.45, 7.0.0.25, 8.0.0.4 and 8.5.0.1.  Please refer
