APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• During a shut down of WebSphere Application Server if you have
  used symbolic links to point to
  websphere_home/profiles/profile_name/wstemp files may not be
  able to be deleted. When this occurs the following Warning
  message is written
  -
  ADMA0078W: The file:/WebSphere_Home/Profiles/profile_namewstemp
  /appmgmt/mbean/AppManagement_<numeric_value> cannot be deleted.
  --
  This path is the symbolic link path instead of WebSphere
  Application Server's true path.
  

Local fix

• Customer can workaround this issue by redirecting the wstemp to
  a differnt path using the System property "websphere.workspace.
  root"
  
  Define this property on the Server JVMs with a non-symbolic link
  path.

  The AppManagement MBean will create a temporary directory for
  its use and delete it when the server is stopped. But, it
  fails to delete it if the directory path is a symbolic link.
  

Problem conclusion

• The fix will delete the temporary directory even if it is a
  symbolic link.
  
  The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
  fix pack 8.0.0.4.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
