Error description

If a transaction timeout occurs in an EJB method, the
transaction is rolled back but no
EJBTransactionRolledbackException is thrown to the
client.

Local fix

If the method which began the transaction calls
EJBContext.setRollbackOnly(), then the timeout exception will
not be thrown. Also, if the method which began the transaction
throws an exception, that exception will be returned from the
method rather than the transaction timeout exception.
. Note that the change we will be making applies only to
transaction timeout

If a transaction timeout occurs in an EJB method that is
configured for container managed transactions and the method
began the transaction, the transaction is rolled back but no
EJBTransactionRolledbackException is thrown to the
client.

Problem conclusion

A change has been made to the EJB container so that an
EJBTransactionRolledbackException is thrown when the
transaction timeout occurs, unless the EJB method throws a
different exception or the EJB method which began the
transaction calls setRollbackOnly() and then returns without
throwing an exception.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix packs 6.1.0.45, 7.0.0.25, 8.0.0.4, and 8.5.0.1.  Please
