Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server V8.0 * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: IMS applications are unable to * * participate in a global transaction * * when calling applications in * * WebSphere Application Server on * * z/OS over WOLA. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** No support for global transactions for IMS to WebSphere Application Server applications using WOLA even when running IMS with RRS=YES
Problem conclusion
Support is added to WOLA to propagate and assert the RRS transaction context from IMS to WebSphere Application Server. The IMS application has to have called the WOLA Register API (BBOA1REG) and requested transactions support. The target WAS application server must have the environment variable 'ola_rrs_context_propagate' defined and set to 1, or true. The IMS environment must be running with RRS=YES. With this, IMS to WebSphere Application Server global transactions are now supported. APAR PM63912 is currently targeted for inclusion in Fix Packs 8.0.0.4 and 8.5.0.1 of WebSphere Application Server.
