  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: java.lang.IncompatibleClassChangeError  *
  *                      when using @Inject to inject an EJB     *
  *                      with a no-interface view by an          *
  *                      abstract class it directly extends.     *

  The CDI container incorrectly attempts to add the injected field
  type to the list of interfaces even when the injected field type
  is not an interface.  This leads to a
  java.lang.IncompatibleClassChangeError when the proxy is
  created.
  

Problem conclusion

• The CDI container no longer attempts to add the injected field
  to the list of interfaces if the field type is not an interface.
  
  The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
  fix packs 8.0.0.5 and 8.5.0.1.  Please refer to the Recommended
