    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: APAR PM65637 addresses the following *
    *                      two issues:                             *
    *                      A warning message saying that a         *
    * metatype path could not be resolved is *
    * always emitted during the feature list *

    * stream encoding is different than *
    * UTF-8, which for Java running on *
    * Mac OSX defaults to MacRoman. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    During feature list generation there is a warning that
    complains
    about the OSGI-INF/l10n/metatype path not being found in the
    monitor bundle. This happens because the OSGI-
    INF/l10n/metatype
    file did not exist in that bundle.
    The feature list is trying to force UTF-8 output, but when the
    underlying stream has a different encoding (for example,
    MacRoman on Mac OSX's Java) we get the mismatch error.

Problem conclusion

  • The file OSGI-INF/l10n/metatype was added to the monitor bundle.

    Support has been modified to properly check and use the
    underlying stream encoding.

    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix pack 8.5.0.1. Please refer to the Recommended Updates page
