Error description

  • When the com.ibm.wsspi.wssecurity.core.NonceMaxAge WS-Security
custom property is set in WS-Security general bindings, the
value set is not used be the application; the default value of
300 is used. When the property is set to application specific
bindings, the value for the property is used properly.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: WS-Security Timestamp and Nonce *
    * custom properties do not work in *
    *                      general bindings                        *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Install a fix pack that contains this APAR *
    ****************************************************************
The settings for the WS-Security Timestamp or Nonce custom
properties do not take effect when they are configured in the
general policy set bindings. When the properties are
configured in application specific bindings, they work.
    The affected custom properties are:
    com.ibm.wsspi.wssecurity.core.TimestampTimeout
    com.ibm.wsspi.wssecurity.core.TimestampMaxAge
    com.ibm.wsspi.wssecurity.core.TimestampClockSkew
    com.ibm.wsspi.wssecurity.core.NonceCacheTimeout
    com.ibm.wsspi.wssecurity.core.NonceMaxAge
    com.ibm.wsspi.wssecurity.core.NonceClockSkew

Problem conclusion

  • The Timestamp and Nonce custom properties are being inspected
in a section of code that is only being run when application
    specific binding are being used.

The WS-Security code is updated to move the inspection of the
Timestamp and Nonce custom properties to configuration code
that is common to both general and application specific
    bindings.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix packs 7.0.0.25, 8.0.0.5, and 8.5.0.1. Please refer to the
