    ****************************************************************
Java virtual machines require on the user to send a QUIT signal
to the process in order to generate a thread, heap, or system
dump. This is not possible on Microsoft Windows operating
systems, particularly when a Liberty server is started in the
background. Additionally, most virtual machines require
command-line arguments to be set when starting the process.
It is not always known when starting a server that the
    diagnostics will be required later.

Problem conclusion

  • A javadump action was added to the server script, which allows
thread, heap, and system dumps to be taken at any time while
the server is running, regardless of the Java virtual machine
options used to start the server.
