Error description

  • Incorrect results are returned from calls to
    ServletContext.getResourcePaths(String path) under the
    following circumstances.

A web application is installed on the Liberty profile where
the application contains a WAR file which stores resources in
a folder with a name that ends with a .jar extension within
the WEB-INF/lib directory, for example WEB-INF/lib/abc/xxx.jar.

    The application calls ServletContext.getResourcePaths("/abc/")
expecting any results indicating a subdirectory to end in a
    '/', i.e. in this scenario /xxx.jar/.

Currently this does not happen and a result of /xxx.jar is
    returned.

    ****************************************************************
    When the return paths of
    ServletContext.getResourcePaths(String path) point to an
expanded lib jar under WEB-INF/lib of an expanded war, a /
will be missed at the end of path.

Problem conclusion

  • In the case of expanded lib jar in expanded web application,
a / is added at the end of return path of
    ServletContext.getResourcePaths(String path).

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 8.5.0.1. Please refer to the Recommended Updates page
