    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The WebSphere Application Server for *
    *                      z/OS configuration image does not       *
    * contain a symbolic link to the tio *
    *                      directory.                              *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    The script (bbowhfsa.sh) that generates the WebSphere
    Application Server for z/OS configuration images has a string
    that contains the list of directories in the root install image
    that the script is to ignore for normal symlink processing.
    There is an error in the bbowhfsa.sh search logic on this
    string in that it can get hits on word fragments as well as
    complete words (where each complete word is the name of a
    directory). One of the directory names in this excludes list is
    "configuration" and "tio" is found within this word. This
    results in the tio directory being ignored.

Problem conclusion

  • The format of the string within the bbowhfsa.sh script that
    contains the list of directories in the root install image
    that the script is to ignore for normal symlink processing has
    been changed. Rather than separating the directory names by a
    spaces, colons are now used and the string now begins and ends
    with colons. The string is now searched for ":dirName:" for a
    given directory name (to see if the directory should be
    skipped for normal symlink processing). This prevents getting
    false hits on word fragments in the string.
