APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Creating the namespace binding objects with special characters
within the name attribute will fail with the error:

    AdminConfig.getid('/Cell:cell2/'), '[[name
    "Intra/BBBMsgDispatcher"]
    [providerURL "name:iiop:phost:2809,:phost:2810"]
    [nameInNameSpace "Intra/BBBMsgDispatcher"] [jndiName
    "cell/clusters/ClusterA/BBBMsgDispatcher"]]')

    WASX7015E: Exception running command:
    "AdminConfig.create('IndirectLookupNameSpaceBinding',
    AdminConfig.getid('/Cell:cell2/'), '[[name
    "Intra/BBBMsgDispatcher"]
    [providerURL "name:iiop:phost:2809,:phost:2810"]
    [nameInNameSpace "Intra/BBBMsgDispatcher"] [jndiName
    "cell/clusters/ClusterA/BBBMsgDispatcher"]]')"; exception
    information:
    com.ibm.websphere.management.exception.InvalidAttributeValExcept
ion: ADMG0012E: The attribute value for attribute
    Intra/BBBMsgDispatcher is not valid.

The namespace restriction on the following namespace config
objects is being relaxed to introduce special characters within
    the "name" attribute:

    CORBAObjectNameSpaceBinding
    EjbNameSpaceBinding
    IndirectLookupNameSpaceBinding
    NameSpaceBinding

This APAR will allow the forward slash '/' to be used within the
    name attribute.

Local fix

  • Do not use a '/' in the name attribute or create the
name space bindings from the admininstrative console.

    ****************************************************************
When creating a name space binding config object such as
IndirectNameSpaceBinding and name attribute containing the
special character "/" using wsadmin, it will fail with
"ADMG0012E The attribute value is not valid" error.

Problem conclusion

  • The fix has extended the APAR PM26320 function to add
the support on other NameSpaceBinding config objects. You need
    to set the system property
    "com.ibm.websphere.management.configservice.validateNames" to
    false in order to work.

If using wsadmin in connected mode, this property needs to be
set in the deployment manager or server connected by using
    AdminTask.setJVMSystemProperties command or through the
    console.

If using wsadmin in local mode (conntype=NONE), the property
can be set via a javaoption command option such as:

wsadmin -conntype none -lang jython -javaoption

    "-Dcom.ibm.websphere.management.configservice.validateNames=fals
    e"

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix packs 7.0.0.27, 8.0.0.5, and 8.5.0.1. Please refer to the
