  • After securing a Liberty profile server using the quick start
security mechanism, it is possible that subsequent attempts to
login (i.e. via a JMX connection) using the configured password
will be refused.

After securing a Liberty profile server using the quick start
security mechanism, it is possible that subsequent attempts to
login (i.e. via a JMX connection) using the configured password
will be refused.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • Liberty profile code has been altered so that encoded passwords
will be recognised and handled correctly during password
verification - previously the password entered via the tooling
was being stored incorrectly.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 8.5.0.1. Please refer to the Recommended Updates page
