Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server for z/OS V8.0 and V8.5 * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: A CICS task abends with abend code * * ADPL when using WebSphere Optimized * * Local Adapters (WOLA). * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When a WOLA Link Server running in one CICS address space routes a request received over WOLA to another CICS address space (ie. a TOR routes to an AOR using a DP LINK), the target program receives an ADPL abend code when attempting to perform a syncpoint. The LINK issued by the WOLA Link Server should have specified SYNCONRETURN to allow the target application to issue a syncpoint.
Problem conclusion
Code was added to add the SYNCONRETURN option to the LINK issued by the WOLA Link Server when requested. This option can be requested by passing the LSYNC=Y option when starting the WOLA Link Server. APAR PM70002 is currently targeted for inclusion in Fix Packs 8.0.0.6 and 8.5.0.2 of WebSphere Application Server.
