Error description

• Error Description￘
  On z/OS, the property file (file.prop) needs to be in ASCII.
  If it not, the monitor deployment code cannot read the file and
  the application does not get change.
  
  This APAR will enhance the monitored deployment parsing code
  and issue a new CWLDD warning message if the property file has
  wrong encoding.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: On z/OS system, the property file       *
  *                      needs to be in ASCII format.  If user   *
  *                      dragged a non ASCII format property     *
  *                      file to the monitored deployment        *
  *                      directory to install or update an       *
  *                      application, the application may not    *
  *                      be installed or updated properly.       *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

  The application may not be installed or updated
  successfully if the property file has wrong format (i.e
  ISO-8859-1 code page) when using the monitored deployment
  service to install or update an application with the property
  file.
  

Problem conclusion

• An new CWLDD0116W message will be issued to the log file if
  a property file has wrong code page is dragged to the
  monitored deployment directory to install or update an
  application.
  
  APAR PM70238 is currently targeted for inclusion in Fix Packs
  8.0.0.6 and 8.5.0.2 of WebSphere Application Server.
