APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Customer has written an implementation class for
  FileWriterPattern and it has created the file successfully. In
  step 2, they have modified the implementation class by adding
  implementation for writeHeader() method. When they ran the job
  it created the file successfully but without the header.

  When using the FileWriterPattern class, if the file is opened
  in non-append mode, the header is not being written to the
  file.
  Additionally, the Batch data streams (BDS) framework classes
  have been updated to resolve a problem where CursorHoldability
  was not working properly.
  

Problem conclusion

• The BDS framework classes have been updated to resolve the
  issues reported in the Problem Summary.
  
  The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
  fix pack 8.5.0.2.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
