    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The servlet's destroy() method is not *
    *                      invoked for a defined load-on-startup   *
    * servlet when no servlet mapping is *
    *                      provided                                *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    When a servlet mapping is not provided for a load-on-startup
    servlet in the web deployment descriptor, the servlet is
    initialized during servlet startup but the destroy() method is
    not invoked when the servlet is stopped.
    Also, the destroy() method is not invoked for the servlets
    that are served using serveServletsByClassName.

Problem conclusion

  • The Webcontainer code is fixed to correctly invoke the
    servlet's destroy() method.

    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix packs 8.0.0.5 and 8.5.0.1. Please refer to the Recommended
