Error description

• When the Liberty profile server is configured with the SSL
  feature, an UnsupportedOperationException is thrown when
  calling URL.openConnection(Proxy), the caused by in the stack
  trace shows a NoSuchMethodException.

  An URL stream handler adapter that is installed with the SSL
  feature was missing a function. That function enabled the
  URL.openConnection(Proxy) operation to work properly.
  

Problem conclusion

• The missing function was implemented.
