PM72509: MAPPING OF WHOLE DATA TYPES IN MEDIATION MODULE DOES NOT HONOUR THE XSI:NIL="TRUE" TYPE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• XSLT transformation in mediation module of Business Process
  Management (BPM) v8 advanced cannot handle null values
  (xsi:nil="true") for datatypes that do not allow empty
  content. Moving the element containing such type does not
  honour the xsi:nil="true" attribute and results in an
  exception.
  

Local fix

• workaround
  User can change the Move mappings in the Mapping Editor to the
  date/dateTime fields individually, rather than on the containing
  element.

  An error was being thrown during item value retrieval for
  empty elements whose datatype did not allow empty content
  because the xsi:nil attribute was not being taken into
  consideration.
  

Problem conclusion

• The logic has been fixed to properly look for any xsi:nil
  attributes found on the element that would allow the empty
  content.
  
  The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in the
  XML Feature Pack 1.0.0.15. Please refer to the Recommended
