Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Unable to map a security role to a * * user due to a failure of user id * * matching. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Due to code defect, the security code always performs case sensitive string search while validating an input value for role mapping. As a result, when access ID of role mapping in an application bind file and a user or group access ID have a case mismatch, the security code fails to treat the input string as a valid value.
Problem conclusion
With this fix, string comparison is performed based on the setting of ignore case flag. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 8.0.0.6, and 8.5.0.2.
