Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server OSGi applications * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Updating a bundle in a large EBA * * takes a long time. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The process of updating a bundle requires that the bundles already in the EBA are read off the disk. This is done at various stages during the update. The I/O operations cause the update to be slow.
Problem conclusion
This APAR improves the performance of updating the bundle by caching data read from the disk. Therefore there is only a single I/O operation for each piece of data required rather than multiple. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 8.5.0.2.
