Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: GatewayBundleContextProxy * * ClassNotFoundException during lookup * * using third party initial context * * factory. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** OSGi Applications needs to intercept JNDI lookups. As part of doing this the environment passed to the initial context factory can be augmented. If the factory is not a Wepshere Application Server factory, and the environment is augmented with an instance of the GatewayBundleContextProxy class, a ClassNotFoundException can occur when the factory passes the environment to a third party application server (non WebSphere Application Server).
Problem conclusion
This APAR fixes the problem by only augmenting the environment if the initial context factory class is IBM's. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 8.0.0.6 and 8.5.0.2.
