APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• If the client uses the runtime tab to enableverbose GC during
  runtime, the GC counter starts at 1.  However, this could be
  the 20th, 100th or millionth GC cycle.  This could be
  deceptive when trying to analyze the logs as we heavily depend
  on the #1 count to match with when the server starts.  If there
  was some indicator in the logs as to the origination of
  the verbose GC, (runtime or static) this would clear up any
  confusion.

  When verbose GC is activated during runtime, this is not
  logged. As a result it is possible to mis-interpret the
  meaning of the verbose gc data.
  

Problem conclusion

• An audit-level trace message is now logged when verbose GC is
  activated during runtime.
  
  The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
  fix pack 8.5.0.1.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
