Error description
The WebSphere Application Server for z/OS zpmt.sh command can write customization data into an install image if the profilePath or templatePath are specified incorrectly. This can cause the configuration images that are symlinked to this install image to be unusable.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server for z/OS Version 8.5 that use the * * zpmt.sh command to generate customization * * jobs. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The zpmt.sh command can write * * customization data into the WebSphere * * Application Server for z/OS * * installation image. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The zpmt.sh command will write customization data into the WebSphere Application Server for z/OS installation image if 1) the installation image is mounted read-write (instead of read-only) and 2) the profilePath value in the zpmt.sh response file points to a location within the installation image. The writing of customization data into the installation image can cause the generated customization jobs to fail or prevent servers within the defined node from starting.
Problem conclusion
The zpmt.sh command will be updated to issue an error message and exit (without generating any customization data) when the profilePath value points to a location that is contained within the associated installation image (which is specified by the zSmpePath response file value).
