Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server V7.0 * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: verifyGroupPerms.sh only verifies group * * write permissions. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The script verifyGroupPerms.sh was introduced in 7.0.0.13 to help users detect any files in their config root which may not have group write permissions, which in turn can cause the server to not start properly. This script did not check for group read permissions however which when not enabled can also cause the same issue of the server not starting properly.
Problem conclusion
The script was modified to check for both group read and write permissions. APAR PM77439 is currently targeted for inclusion in WebSphere Application Server Fix Pack 7.0.0.29. Please refer to URL: //www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=404&uid=swg27006970 for Fix Pack availability.
