Error description

Searching for a user or group with Virtual Member Manager
(VMM) it fails to find the user or group if the search
expression contains a single quote. For example:  test'user

SYMPTOMS
The user or group is not found.

ENVIRONMENT
Any WebSphere Application Server V8.0 environment

RECREATION
1)  Login into WebSphere Application Server Administrative
Console
2)  Create a new userID:
test'user

3)  Search by
test'     FAILS
test'*    FAILS
test*     WORKS

Local fix

If possible, change the search experssion to not
include the single quote in the search.

*                      single quote to retrieve entities then  *
*                      VMM is not returning entities           *
*                      satisfying the search criteria.         *

* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

Virtual member manager (VMM) is not returning entities with
single quotes when the search expression explicitly contains a
single quote in it.
For example, username = test'user
expression sent to retrieve entities is : "test'u*"

Problem conclusion

This fix corrects the code to handle single quotes given in the
search expression, and returns entities which satisfy the
search criteria.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix packs 7.0.0.31, 8.0.0.6 and 8.5.0.2.  Please refer to the
