    * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application *
    *                  Server WS-Notification                      *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: NullPointerException when not *
    *                      specifying wsn-br:Demand element for a  *
    *                      wsn-br:RegisterPublisher request.       *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: The wsn-br:Demand element is optional for *
    *                  the wsn-br:RegisterPublisher request.  The  *
    *                  WS-Notification implementation should       *
    * handle the case when it is not specified. *
    ****************************************************************
    The WS-Notification specification states that "Demand" is an
    optional element in "RegisterPublisher" and defaults to "false"
    if not specified. The WebSphere Application Server
    WS-Notification immplementation should therefore handle
    "RegisterPublisher" messages with no "Demand" element.

Problem conclusion

  • This APAR resolves the problem by anticipating that the
    "Demand" element may not be specified. If it is not
    specified, it defaults to "false".

    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix pack 8.5.0.2. Please refer to the Recommended Updates
