Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Thread gets hung when LDAP goes down * * while VMM still receives requests for * * new contexts. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** If LDAP is down after WebSphere Application Server is up and virtual member manager (VMM) requests for new contexts then it fails with a ConnectionException but the contextPool size increases by one each time. When the contextPool size reaches the maxPoolSize, it results in a thread hung.
Problem conclusion
This fix corrects the code to propertly handle live contexts size. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix packs 7.0.0.29, 8.0.0.6 and 8.5.0.2.
