  • WebSphere Application Server V7.0.0.23
    all Operating Systems
    
    Customer has a reproducible issue configuring a db2 data source
    with automatic client reroute enabled. After the configuration
    is completed and the adminagent is restarted, the console for
    the node complains of unsaved changes which cannot be saved
    or discarded.
    

Local fix

  • local fix:
    
    to workaround the issue:
    remove the whole directory structure for the cellname associated
    with the adminagent in the
    standalone server profile.
    ie:
      adminagent cell name: jimgadtopAACell01
      standalone cell name: jimgaydtopNode02Cell
      the jimgadtopAACell01 directory structure should not exist in
    the jimgaydtopNode02Cell configuration
    

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED:  All users of IBM WebSphere Application      *

    *                  testing resource connections with the       *
    *                  administrative console.                     *

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Test connection happens at an           *
    *                      incorrect server and causes a bad       *
    *                      file to be created in the config        *
    *                      causing save problems.                  *

    The test connection MBean was invoke on the adminagent rather
    than on the server that it should have been.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Changed the code so that a test connection is run on the
    server it is configured on and not the admin agent.
    
    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix packs 7.0.0.28, 8.0.0.7, and the fix pack following
    8.5.0.2.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates page for
