Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server OSGi Applications * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: ClassNotFoundException in application * * code running in Blueprint container. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** If a bundle is already started by the time a BundleTracker is registered, a null event is driven to that BundleTracker. The Blueprint Activator BundlerTracker was failing to handle these null events which could occur for key bundles under unusual timing conditions. As a result, the Blueprint container failed to be setup correctly for some application bundles and as a result the context classloader would fail to be set on the thread entering the Blueprint container. ClassNotFoundExceptions would therefore ensue.
Problem conclusion
This APAR resolves the problem by ensuring the null events are handled correctly and avoids the possibility of unusual timing conditions preventing the correct setup of the Blueprint containers in this way. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 8.0.0.7 and the fix pack following 8.5.0.2.
