Error description

  • In WebSphere Application Server V8.0.0 and with 8.0.0.1 through
8.0.0.5 fix packs installed, even though the content in the
Administrative Console panels display the language selected
according to the browser's locale settings, the Help Context pop
up window which displays as a result of clicking the ? icon
(for example, on the Welcome screen), does not display the same
language ; instead, the help text is displayed in English.

This same behavior occurs in the help pop-up windows for the
    Federated Identity Manager product console.

The problem is caused by IEHS - IBM Eclipse Help System.
    .
    KEYWORDS: AdminConsole

Local fix

  • Investigation is still on-going. The following workaround is
    recommended:
Go to one of the main console panels in the Admin Console
and click help there. For example, go back to the Welcome page,
then click help there, and the correct language of the
    installed locale will be displayed.
    .
Another way to circumvent the problem with the language
displaying English rather than the specific locale in the WSAS
Admin Console help pop-up window panels; the 8.0 version of the
iehs.war for the isclite application, can be replaced with the
8.5 version of the iehs.war file, however, we suggest the
simpler workaround suggested above, until the updated iehs.war
file is included in the next WebSphere 8.0 FixPack.

The user's selected language preference is not being used when
displaying the help in a separate window as from the question
mark ? on the Welcome screen.

Problem conclusion

  • We now use the selected language for the helps. This change
requires the <profileName>/temp directory to be removed in
order for the fix to work.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 8.0.0.6. Please refer to the Recommended
    Updates page for delivery information:
