Error description

  • Some WebService providers require a pair of quotes enclosing
    the value of soapAction in RFH2 header, otherwise it returns an
    ActionMismatch soapfault.

    A soap Request sent from our JAX-WS client, which does not
    provide any options to control the format of the soapAction,
    might be rejected by some WebService providers with a
    fault

    Furthermore, according to WS Basic Profile 1,1
    (http://www.ws-i.org/profiles/basicprofile-1.1.html), SOAPAction
    Header field-value must be quoted for Interoperability

    JAX-WS generates RFH2 headers:
    ....
    <soapAction>http://abc.com/MyService/getActDetails/response
    </soapAction>
    ...
    ...
    <contentType>application/soap+xml; charset=UTF-8;
    .
    WebService provider expects RFH2 headers:
    .
    <soapAction>"http://abc.com/MyService/getActDetails/response"
    </soapAction>
    ...
    ...
    <contentType>application/soap+xml; charset=UTF-8;
    ..
    ..

Local fix

  • Use JAX-WS handler to add the double quotes around value of
    SOAPAction

    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    When the JAX-WS engine generates SOAP over JMS message the
    value of soapAction is not enclosed in quotes. This may result
    in an ActionMismatch soapfault from some WebService providers.

Problem conclusion

  • The JAX-WS engine is changed to formulate the the value of
    soapAction with enclosing quotes.
    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix packs 7.0.0.29,8.0.0.6 and the fix pack following
    8.5.0.2.
